Because we raise a limited number of litters each year, most kittens are reserved before they are ever listed publicly.

To keep the process simple:

A $1,000 commitment fee places you on our waitlist and secures your spot
When kittens are available, families are contacted in order once they receive a veterinary health certificate. Once you select your kitten, a $1,500 reservation deposit holds that kitten until go-home
All deposits apply toward the final price

Deposits are standard and ensure that kittens are reserved for committed families. This also allows us to plan each placement carefully rather than operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you have preferences for color or sex, joining the waitlist early gives you the best chance of securing the right kitten.

Kittens are typically ready to go home between 13 and 16 weeks, after two FVCRP vaccinations, microchipping, and a full veterinary health check.

Our 2026 Maine Coon kittens are typically priced between $4,500 and $7,500, depending on the individual kitten and availability.

How it Works

 maine Coon Reservation Process

Start by completing our kitten application. Once approved, you can place your $500 waitlist deposit to hold your place for an upcoming litter.
This will give you priority to select the specific color/sex you are looking for.

When a litter is born, we send early updates and photos to families on the list. Once kittens are viable, evaluated for temperament and structure, you can select your kitten and place a $1,500 reservation deposit to hold your kitten until pickup or delivery. Selections are based on order of deposits.

When your kitten is ready, usually between 13 and 16 weeks, you’ll receive a full veterinary record, vaccination history, microchip details, and paperwork. You can pick up your kitten locally or arrange transport with one of our trusted flight nannies.

We stay in touch from start to finish, offering updates, care guidance, and support every step of the way. Bringing home an Almonte Maine Coon is more than a purchase — it’s the start of a lasting friendship built on trust, care, and a shared love for this incredible breed.

"If you’ve been searching online for Maine Coon kittens for sale, stop scrolling and message Almonte Cats. They are the real deal. You're home now.

Some of you need to stop texting that ex and get a cat. I love Leocadia and her cats so much. Just get one or three. So much cheaper then therapy.

Maine Coon Kitten Health Guarantee

At Almonte Cats, the health and longevity of our kittens come first. Every Maine Coon kitten we raise is backed by a written health guarantee and born from carefully selected, health-tested parents who meet strict breeding standards.

Our adult Maine Coons are carefully health-tested and DNA screened for genetic conditions known to affect the breed, including HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). Every breeding cat in our program is FIV and FeLV negative, receives regular veterinary care, and fed a wholistic diet  to ensure strong, healthy kittens. As a preservation-focused Maine Coon breeder, we invest in veterinarian health screening and ethical breeding practices that protect the long-term vitality of the breed.

We raise all Maine Coon kittens in our home, not in a cattery, to promote confident, affectionate temperaments and strong immune systems. From their first days, each kitten is handled daily, socialized with children, and gently exposed to normal household life. This early socialization shapes the calm, intelligent, and family-oriented personality that makes purebred Maine Coons such beloved companions.

Where Do You Raise Maine Coon Kittens?

Our Maine Coon kittens are raised in our home with daily handling, early socialization, and plenty of love. From birth, each kitten is nurtured in a clean, family environment to build confidence, health, and gentle temperaments. By the time they go home, our purebred Maine Coons are litter trained, affectionate, and fun to live with.

From birth, we’re hands-on with every kitten. We weigh them, handle them gently, and make sure each one feels safe and nurtured. They’re socialized with people, children, and gentle household activity from the start. This helps our kittens develop calm, friendly temperaments that make them a joy to live with.

As they grow, we introduce them to toys, grooming, litter training, and small adventures around the house. They get used to brushing, nail trims, and the normal sounds of everyday life; all the things that make their transition into your home smooth and stress-free.

Every one of our purebred Maine Coons is raised to be affectionate, intelligent, and people-oriented. We spend hours with them every day, learning their personalities and helping them grow into the remarkable companions this breed is known for.

By the time our Maine Coon kittens for sale are ready to go home, they’re not just beautiful and healthy. Our Kittens are well-adjusted, confident, and ready to bond with their families. That’s the difference you feel when you bring home a kitten from Almonte Cats.

We take pride in raising luxury kittens with intention. Because the Maine Coon isn’t just any cat. It’s a loyal, gentle, and intelligent companion that deserves the very best start in life.

People often ask how we raise our Maine Coon kittens, and the truth is that they’re part of our daily life from the very beginning. We don’t keep our cats in kennels or cattery buildings. our kittens are raised right here in our home, surrounded by family life, love, and daily attention. They hear the sounds of our home, feel human touch every day, and grow up confident, secure, and full of personality.

About Us
Registered, health-tested parents:
Every breeding Maine Coon in our program is registered with The International Cat Association (TICA) and the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). All breeding cats are DNA tested for genetic conditions including HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), and PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) to ensure healthy, sound bloodlines.

Raised in a home environment:
Our Maine Coon kittens are raised in our home, not in cages or kennels. They grow up surrounded by everyday life, gentle handling, and early socialization. From birth, they’re used to family activity, normal household sounds, and interaction with people and pets, helping them develop confidence and affectionate personalities.

Temperament and structure combined:
The Maine Coon is known for its large size, powerful build, and loving temperament. We carefully select for both beauty and behavior, producing kittens that are as balanced and affectionate as they are striking in appearance. Most of our Maine Coons are imported from Europe and they have the big ear tufts and eye shapes that most owners are looking for.

 the Maine coon Breed

Learn about the Maine Coon Breed and find out if it is a cat you really want to fall in love live with.

The Maine Coon is one of America’s oldest natural cat breeds. The Maine Coon Breed was first recognized in the 1800s in the state of Maine. Known as the “gentle giant,” this breed combines impressive size with a calm and affectionate nature. With its tufted ears, long tail, and luxurious coat, the Maine Coon cat is admired for beauty, intelligence, and loyalty, making it a perfect family companion. Some people call the Maine Coons the dogs of the cat world.
Maine Coon Breed Guide

maine Coon Cat Breed Characteristics

why are Maine Coon cats popular?

Size:
Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. Males often reach 18–25 lbs, while females are usually slightly smaller. Maine Coon kittens grow slowly and continue developing in size and structure until around 3 to 4 years of age. You can read more in our post How Big Do Maine Coon Cats Get.

Coat & Color:
The Maine Coon has a thick, semi-long coat with a soft underlayer and a water-resistant outer layer. They come in nearly every color and pattern, including solid, tabby, tortie, smoke, and shaded varieties. Common colors include brown tabby, silver, red, blue, and cream. Are Maine Coons hypoallergenic? No, they are not, but regular grooming and cleaning can help reduce allergens.

Temperament:
Known as the “gentle giants” of the cat world, Maine Coons are affectionate, confident, and highly intelligent. They enjoy human companionship, often follow their families from room to room, and can be trained to walk on a leash or play fetch. Their calm and friendly personalities make them ideal family companions.

Distinctive Traits:
Maine Coons are recognized for their long tufted ears, expressive eyes, and full, bushy tails. They are playful, curious, and enjoy interactive toys and enrichment. Their deep chirps and trills are a unique form of communication and a signature part of the breed’s charm.

Indoor-Friendly:
Although strong and athletic, Maine Coons thrive as indoor cats due to their affectionate nature and trusting personalities. Keeping them indoors protects them from injury and ensures their health and safety while allowing them to live long, happy lives as part of the family.

If you’ve ever searched for Maine Coon kittens for sale, you already know why this breed has such a devoted following. Once you meet a Maine Coon in person, it’s impossible not to be completely charmed.

These cats are breathtaking. Their long, flowing coats, tufted ears, and expressive eyes give them a regal, wild beauty that turns heads everywhere they go. They come in a variety of colors and patterns, from classic brown tabby to silver, red, and blue, each one unique and stunning.

But what makes the Maine Coon truly special is not just their size or looks, it’s their personality. They are affectionate, intelligent, and loyal companions who love being part of family life. Maine Coons often follow their people from room to room, “talk” with gentle chirps and trills, and greet you at the door like an old friend.

Many families say their Maine Coon cat acts more like a gentle dog than a typical cat. They enjoy interactive play, can learn to walk on a leash, and some even play fetch. Their calm and confident nature makes them wonderful with children, seniors, and other pets.

They are perfectly suited for indoor living, happy to lounge in a sunny window or curl up beside you while you work. Their steady presence brings peace and joy into every corner of the home.

Living with a Maine Coon means sharing your life with a loyal companion who seems to understand you completely. They are gentle giants with hearts just as big as their paws, and once you’ve had one, you’ll never want to live without that quiet, loving company again. 💕

Smoke, shaded, tortie, and orange tabby Maine Coons are some of the most requested colors due to their contrast, depth, and how dramatically they develop as the kitten matures. While color plays a role in appearance, structure, temperament, and overall health remain the priority in every pairing.

At Almonte Cats, we offer Maine Coon kittens raised from health-tested, CFA and TICA registered parents, with a focus on temperament, health, and early development. Each kitten is raised in-home with consistent handling and socialization, resulting in friendly, confident companions that transition smoothly into their new homes. Our goal is to provide Maine Coons that are not only beautiful, but also easy to live with.

Why Families Choose Our Maine Coon Kittens

Health, Welfare & Quality Assurance
We place enormous emphasis on the health, structure, and longevity of our Maine Coon kittens for sale. Every kitten we raise begins with a foundation of ethical breeding, careful health testing, and daily, hands-on care.

Maine Coon Genetic Testing & Health Screening
All parent cats are CFA and/or TICA registered and DNA-tested for breed-specific conditions such as HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), and PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). We also verify FeLV and FIV negative status and keep all of our cats indoors to protect them from disease exposure. Our goal is to produce healthy, genetically sound Maine Coons that thrive for many years.

Socialization & Environment
Our Maine Coon kittens grow up in our home surrounded by normal life, not in kennels or cages. They are raised underfoot with people, children, and other pets, which helps shape their calm, social personalities. From birth, they are handled daily and introduced to everyday sights and sounds, which builds confidence and makes the transition to their new homes smooth and easy.

Veterinary Care & Documentation
Each kitten receives age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and a complete veterinary health exam before going home. Families receive a written health certificate, copies of the parents’ DNA results, and a signed health guarantee. We also include 30 days of health insurance to ensure a stress-free transition for your kitten’s first month home.

Responsible Breeding Practices
We limit the number of litters each year to preserve the health and well-being of our breeding cats. Our focus is always on temperament, health, and proper breed type, not volume. This means we often have a waiting list, but it also ensures that every family receives a kitten raised with personal care and attention. Each kitten leaves us confident, well-socialized, and ready to become a loving part of their new family.

How much is a Maine Coon Kitten?

Maine Coon kittens in the United States typically range from $3,500 to $7,000+, depending on the breeder, health testing, and how the kittens are raised.

At Almonte Cats, our Maine Coon kittens start at $4,500+ and include registration, vaccinations, microchipping, health guarantees, and ongoing breeder support.

Lower-priced kittens do exist, but they often come without proper health testing, registration, or early socialization. Most families are not just paying for a kitten, they are choosing a smoother experience, fewer surprises, and a gorgeous soul cat that integrates easily into their home.

“We both work long hours and wanted a pet that wouldn’t demand constant walks but would still keep us company. Our Maine Coon kitten from Almonte Cats is theee man cat of all cats. Lol. They were very communicative and flew him to us in style. Highly recommend, this breeder gave us the best Coonie baby ever.

Jason & Rachel P., Denver, CO

After getting burned by an online scam, we were nervous about buying a purebred cat. Finding Almonte Cats was a relief. From our first video call to the day our kitten arrived, everything was transparent and professional. Our Maine Coon is stunning, healthy, and confident. You can tell these kittens are raised with care. We recommend this breeder to anyone who wants quality kitten.

Derek & Alicia R., Seattle, WA

I live alone and wanted a fierce looking pet that could stay in my apartment, without all the barking, shedding, or chaos that comes with a dog. My Maine Coon from Almonte Cats has been perfect. He’s huge, fluffy, and has the funniest personality. He greets me at the door, sleeps on the couch while I work, and chirps when I talk to him like we’re having a real conversation.

Emily K., Boston, MA

After I ended my toxic relationship, the house felt too quiet. I wanted a cat that was affectionate but not clingy.  Someone to listen and not judge me. My Maine Coon, Jasper, has been the best gift to myself.  He has the gentle, loyal nature I was hoping for. Almonte Cats made everything easy and safe, and I never once worried about being scammed. My vet says he is healthy and everyone asks where I found him.

Maine Coon Cat Health & Maintenance

  • High-quality kitten food: Ask us what your kitten is currently eating so you can match their diet during the first few weeks.F
  • Fresh water: Maine Coons love water, so a pet fountain can encourage them to drink more and stay hydrated.
  • Litter box and litter: Provide a large litter pan with high sides or open space. Keep it clean and placed in a quiet, low-traffic area.
  • Scratching posts and climbing spaces: Maine Coons are active and athletic. A tall cat tree or wall shelves give them a place to climb, stretch, and perch.
  • Safe indoor space: We recommend keeping your Maine Coon indoors. Supervised outdoor time or a secure catio is fine, but free roaming is not advised.
  • Cozy bedding and toys: Offer soft beds, tunnels, and interactive toys. Maine Coons love playtime and enjoy spending time near their people.
  • Carrier: Use a sturdy, secure carrier for travel home and future vet visits.
  • Start by confining your kitten to one quiet room when you first arrive home. Allow them to explore and adjust at their own pace.
  • Once comfortable, gradually open up more of the house so your kitten can explore safely.
  • If you have other pets, introduce them slowly and with supervision. Positive, gradual introductions help everyone adjust.
  • Establish a daily routine for feeding, play, and litter box cleaning. Maine Coons enjoy structure and learn quickly.
  • Spend quality time together every day. Maine Coons form strong bonds and love being included in family life.
  • Brushing: Maine Coons have semi-long coats that benefit from regular brushing to prevent tangles and reduce shedding. Do Maine coons shed? Yes, and brushing helps.
  • Nail trims and ear checks: Keep up with basic grooming to keep your kitten comfortable and healthy.
  • Vet care: Schedule annual checkups, keep vaccines current, and register your kitten’s microchip.
  • Spay/neuter: Complete this at the appropriate age if not already done before going home.
  • Environment: Provide enrichment, safe spaces to rest, and consistent companionship. Maine Coons are social cats and prefer not to be left alone for long periods.

The Value of Investing in a Quality Maine Coon Kitten

When people search “Maine Coon kittens for sale cheap,” they may come across lower-cost options, but it’s important to understand what those prices often mean: limited or no health testing, uncertain pedigrees, poor early socialization, and little to no breeder support. At Almonte Cats:

Why You Should Start Your Maine Coon Kitten Search Now

Searching for “Maine Coon kittens for sale” right now means you’re proactive about getting a healthy, well-matched kitten for your home. Good litters are limited, and waiting lists are common. By applying early you:

  • Improve your chances of selecting your preferred color/pattern and sex.
  • Get updates from the breeder on upcoming litters, and choose from among several options.
  • Have time to prepare your home and family for the new arrival.
  • Benefit from breeder guidance during the waiting period (diet prep, environment prep, etc.).
  • Lock in current pricing and choices before seasonal demand increases.
  1. You’re investing in a healthy Maine Coon kitten with health documentation and a strong start.
  2. The lifelong value, both emotional and practical, of a kitten that’s healthy, well-socialized, and matches breed temperament is significant.
  3. Consider the “true cost” of ownership: vet bills, maintenance, training, behavioral issues vs a kitten starting from a strong foundation.
  4. The peace of mind, and the joy of bringing home a confident, friendly Maine Coon kitten who settles in quickly is priceless.
