I’m Leocadia. Founder. Breeder of living heirlooms. Creator of the soul cat you’ve always dreamed of.
Before founding Almonte Cats, I was shaping stories in the luxury world — as a fashion editor devoted to detail, elegance, and timeless design. I’ve simply traded silk and stilettos for soft fur and quiet purrs. Now, I’m passing that eye for beauty and devotion to craft to my daughter-in-law and granddaughter, who will carry the Almonte tradition forward with the same grace and heart it was built on.
Somewhere between viral kitten videos and picture-perfect posts, I kept seeing the same thing again and again: cats that looked beautiful but came from places that didn’t care. Families longing for connection, only to be scammed or heartbroken.
So I did what every great editor obsessed with black cats might do — I rewrote the story.
With one hand in heritage and the other in modern elegance, I built Almonte Cats to bring ethics, beauty, and emotional depth back to cat breeding. My approach?
Raise healthy, soulful kittens. Protect their origins. Match them with people who truly bond with them. Bring back the soul cats.

Looking for a Kitten? Perfect. Here we share everything you need to know about our cats and the process of bringing one home
How much are your Kittens?
All of our kittens are currently priced at $4,500. This includes Ragdoll kittens, Maine Coon kittens, and Golden British Shorthair kittens. The price reflects health testing, TICA and CFA registration, in-home raising, and lifetime breeder support, ensuring families receive true luxury companions.
What health testing do you do on your cats?
We test all of our breeding cats for major health concerns before pairing them. This includes screening for FeLV, PKD, HCM, PRA, and other genetic conditions to ensure the healthiest possible kittens. Maine Coons get OFA hip testing, Patella testing etc. Each litter is registered with TICA, and kittens receive full veterinary exams before going home.
Do you vaccinate kittens?
Yes. All of our kittens receive age-appropriate core vaccinations and a full veterinary exam before going to their new homes.
Do you allow in-home visits?
No. For biosecurity and our cats safety, kittens are not available for in-person visits prior to going home. Instead, families receive regular photos and videos so they can watch their kitten grow and develop.
What is your favorite cat color?
Black. Of course. There is nothing more stunning (and sinister) then a real black cat.
Do you have a waitlist for your kittens?
Yes. To join the waitlist, families place a $1,000 deposit. Once kittens are born, an additional $1,500 deposit is due to commit to a kitten from the litter. Deposits are applied toward the total price.
Can I choose the color or sex of my kitten?
Yes, families may request a preferred color or sex. However, please understand that doing so may require a longer wait depending on availability.
Do you ship kittens outside of Pennsylvania?
Yes. We offer safe transport across the United States, including ground couriers, flight nanny services, and air shipping from Philadelphia International Airport.
What is included with my kitten?
Each kitten from The Almonte House goes home with a written care guide, a Trupanion insurance offer, full veterinary records, TICA registration papers (after spay/neuter), and lifetime breeder support. Families also receive starter essentials to help their kitten transition smoothly into their new home.
What makes The Almonte House different?
