How much is a ragdoll Kitten?

Our luxury Ragdoll kittens start at 4,500+.
Each kitten includes:
Health certificate and vaccinations
Microchip and registration
Two-year genetic health guarantee
Lifetime breeder support

We focus on raising a small number of litters each year so that every kitten receives the same high level of care and attention. Because of this, most kittens are spoken for before they are ever listed publicly.

To join the waitlist, families fill out our kitten application and place a $500 deposit. This deposit holds your spot in line and goes toward your total balance.

When a new litter arrives, we contact waitlisted families in order of their deposits. Once you select your kitten, a $1,500 reservation deposit secures that specific kitten until go-home day. Both deposits apply toward the final price. Deposits are not transferrable once you have committed to a specific kitten. If you want a specific color or sex we recommend joining our waitlist well in advance. Learn more about Ragdoll Kitten Prices here.

Kittens are typically ready to go home between 13 and 16 weeks, after completing their vaccines, microchipping, and veterinary health check.

All of our Ragdoll kittens are priced at $4,500+, regardless of color or pattern. Each kitten is raised in our home from health-tested, registered parents and receives daily socialization, grooming, and one-on-one handling from birth.

How it Works

 Ragdoll Reservation Process

Start by completing our kitten application. Once approved, you can place your $500 waitlist deposit to hold your place for an upcoming litter.
This will give you priority to select the specific color/sex you are looking for.

When a litter is born, we send early updates and photos to families on the list. Once kittens are viable, evaluated for temperament and structure, you can select your kitten and place a $1,500 reservation deposit to hold your kitten until pickup or delivery. Selections are based on order of deposits.

When your kitten is ready, usually between 13 and 16 weeks, you’ll receive a full veterinary record, vaccination history, microchip details, and registration paperwork. You can pick up your kitten locally or arrange transport with one of our trusted couriers or flight nannies.

We stay in touch from start to finish, offering updates, care guidance, and support every step of the way. Bringing home an Almonte Ragdoll is more than a purchase — it’s the start of a lasting friendship built on trust, care, and a shared love for this incredible breed.

Ragdoll Kitten Health Guarantee

At Almonte Cats, the health and longevity of our kittens come first. Every Ragdoll kitten we raise is backed by a written health guarantee and born from carefully selected, health-tested parents who meet strict breeding standards.

Our adult Ragdolls are fully screened through DNA testing for genetic conditions including HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). Each breeding cat is FIV and FELV negative and receives routine veterinary care, premium nutrition, and an enriched home environment.

We raise our kittens in-home to build strong immune systems and confident temperaments. From the first days of life, they’re handled daily, socialized with children, and exposed to gentle household sounds. This produces the affectionate, stable nature that makes Ragdolls such remarkable companions.

Every Ragdoll kitten comes home with:

Our Families choosing our Ragdoll Kittens can feel confident they are bringing home a healthy, TICA-registered, health-tested Ragdoll kitten raised with care and transparency. We stand behind every kitten we produce and offer lifetime support for nutrition, wellness, and adjustment as your kitten grows.

Registered, health-tested parents: Every breeding cat is registered with leading associations (e.g., The International Cat Association/TICA and/or Cat Fanciers’ Association/CFA) and has undergone genetic health screening (for conditions such as HCM – hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, PKD – polycystic kidney disease, retinal dystrophy etc.).

Raised in a home environment: Our kittens are not isolated in cages or a caged cattery — they grow up underfoot, interacting with family life, as part of our household. They get early socialisation with people, gentle handling, and are exposed to normal sounds, sights, and pets.

Temperament & beauty combined: The breed standard for a Ragdoll demands not only striking looks (including the hallmark deep-blue eyes, plush coat, and colour-point pattern) but also an affectionate, calm, gentle temperament. We select for both.

Transparency & documentation: When you reserve a kitten, you’ll receive registration paperwork, vet health certificate, copy of parents’ health tests, a contract/guarantee, and information about care and development.

Nationwide placement: Whether you’re searching for “Ragdoll kittens for sale in Pennsylvania”, “Ragdoll kittens for sale near New York”, or “Ragdoll kittens for sale US-wide”, we assist with safe transportation (ground or air) or local pick-up depending on your region.

When you search for “Ragdoll kittens for sale”, You can find everything from backyard kittens to show-quality, health-tested pedigreed kittens. Here’s what sets our Ragdoll Kittens and Cattery apart:

 the Ragdoll Breed

Before diving into the specifics of availability, colors, pricing and application info, it helps to understand the breed you’re bringing into your home.

The Ragdoll cat breed was first developed in the early 1960s by breeder Ann Baker in Riverside, California. The story goes that her foundation female, “Josephine”, had a unique disposition and her kittens displayed an unusually floppy, relaxed temperament — hence the “rag-doll” name. Over the years, breeders refined the traits: large size, color-point coat, stunning blue eyes, and a deeply affectionate temperament.
Ragdoll Breed complete guide

Key Ragdoll Cat Breed Characteristics

why are Ragdoll cats popular?

Size: Ragdolls are large-breed domestic cats. Males often reach 15-20 lbs (or more); females somewhat smaller.
Ragdoll kittens tend to grow slowly and they do not reach full size until approximately 2 years.  Read more on our post how big do ragdoll cats get here.

Coat & Color: They have a semi-longhaired, silky coat. Color-point patterns dominate (seal point, blue point, chocolate point, lilac point, cream, red, etc.) plus variants such as bicolor, mitted, lynx, and newer ones like the  mink/sepia Cherubims. Are ragdoll cats Hypoallergenic? No, they are not, but you can minimize allergies.

Temperament: Known for being extremely gentle, social, calm, often described as “puppy-like” in their loyalty and willingness to follow you. Many Ragdolls even learn to fetch or walk on a leash.

“Floppy” trait: A playful nod to the breed name. Many Ragdolls go limp when picked up, which is part of their charm. This trait has inspired the popular Ragdoll test, where kittens are tested for the limp tendency by gently picking them up and swinging back and forth.

Indoor-friendly: While each cat is unique, the breed is well suited to being indoor-only given their friendly nature and low desire to roam outdoors. Ragdoll cats should not be left outside. They don't have the instincts to be outdoor cats.

If you’ve ever searched “Ragdoll kittens for sale”, you’ve probably seen why this breed has such a loyal following. Once you meet a Ragdoll in person, it’s hard not to fall in love.

These cats have the most amazing deep blue eyes and soft, silky coats in shades of blue, seal, chocolate, and lilac. They look like little works of art, but it’s their sweet personalities that win everyone over.

Ragdolls are total lovebugs. They follow you around the house, flop in your lap, and stare up at you like you’re their favorite person in the world. They’re calm, patient, and so easygoing that they fit in with kids, seniors, and other pets without a problem.

Most people say their Ragdoll acts more like a gentle dog than a cat. They come when called, play fetch, and snuggle right into your arms.

They’re also perfect for indoor living. They’ll find a sunny window, stretch out, and just be with you. You’ll catch yourself smiling every time you see them watching you with those big blue eyes.

Living with a Ragdoll means having constant comfort in your life — a soft purr when you need it most, a quiet shadow who always wants to be near you. Once you have one, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without them. 💕

Available Ragdoll Kitten Colors for Sale

At Almonte Cats, we believe that raising exceptional Ragdoll kittens means focusing on quality, not quantity. Our litters are planned with intention, giving every kitten the time, attention, and socialization they need to grow into calm, confident companions.

We do not mass-produce kittens. Instead, we plan a few litters each year, allowing us to hand-raise every kitten in our home and keep the standard of care personal and consistent. Every family gets a confident kitten raised with care from our best parent cats. Personalities will always vary a little, but all of our kittens are affectionate, friendly, and comfortable with people. They’re raised to be easy to live with, fun, and ragdoll soul cats.

Ragdoll Colors, Patterns, and Variants

Our 2026 Ragdoll kittens will showcase some of the breed’s most beloved and beautiful looks. Expect to see classic Seal Points, Seal Bicolors, and Lynx-marked kittens with vivid blue eyes and luxurious coats. Their personalities will be the typical friendly, up in your business, floppy Ragdolls.

In addition to our signature lines, we also occasionally produce other traditional Ragdoll patterns and colors, including:

Seal Point, Seal Bicolor, Seal Mitted

Blue Point, Blue Bicolor, Blue Mitted

Chocolate Point and Lilac Point (dilutes)

Mink and Sepia variations (Cherubims)

Lynx (tabby) overlays in both point and bicolor forms

Each kitten is unique, but all share the same calm, affectionate nature that defines the Ragdoll breed. Their expressions are soft, their temperaments gentle, and their personalities are fun to live with.

Our Ragdoll kittens are among the best in the United States, raised from fully health-tested, TICA and CFA-registered parents with unmatched care and attention. Each kitten grows up in our home with daily handling, early socialization, and a focus on calm, affectionate temperaments. Families choose us because our kittens are confident, loving, and beautifully representative of the true Ragdoll breed.

what makes our Ragdoll Kittens the Best?

Health, Welfare & Quality Assurance
We place enormous emphasis on the health and longevity of our Ragdoll kittens for sale. Here’s how we ensure the highest welfare standards:

Genetic Testing & Health Screening
Both parents (and sometimes grandparents) are DNA-tested for breed-specific diseases such as HCM, PKD, renal issues, and retinal dystrophies. We verify FeLV/FIV negative status and maintain indoor-only cats to minimize disease exposure. Many top breeders adopt these practices.

Socialization & Environment
Our kittens grow up in the heart of our home — around people, family pets and typical household routines. Early socialization greatly contributes to a kitten’s lifelong temperament. By the time they leave for their new homes, they are accustomed to everyday sounds, play, litter training and interaction.

Veterinary Care & Documentation
Each kitten receives age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, micro-chipping (optional or standard), and a vet health check. We provide written health certificates and sometimes multi-year health or genetic guarantees. We provide 30 days of health insurance to ensure a smooth go home transition for you kitten.

Responsible Breeding Practices
We limit the number of litters per queen to preserve health. We prioritize temperament and health over volume. This means we often have waiting lists and do not produce large quantities of kittens just for sale. This ensures that we can give each adopter the experience they deserve, and each kitten the best start possible.

QUESTIONNARE

Looking for a Ragdoll Kitten? Perfect. Here we share everything you need to know about our
Ragdoll cats and the process of bringing one home

How much are your Ragdoll Kittens?
All of our kittens are currently priced at $4,500. The price reflects health testing, TICA and CFA registration, in-home raising, and lifetime breeder support, ensuring families receive true luxury companions.

What health testing do you do on your Ragdoll cats?
We test all of our breeding cats for major health concerns before pairing them. This includes screening for FeLV, PKD, HCM, PRA, and other genetic conditions to ensure the healthiest possible kittens. Each litter is registered with TICA or CFA, and kittens receive full veterinary exams before going home.

Do you vaccinate Ragdoll kittens?
Yes. All of our kittens receive age-appropriate core vaccinations and a full veterinary exam before going to their new homes.

Do you allow in-home visits?
No. For biosecurity and safety, kittens are not available for in-person visits prior to going home. Instead, families receive regular photos and videos so they can watch their kitten grow and develop.

When can the Ragdoll kittens go home?
Our kittens are generally ready to leave at around 12–16 weeks of age (sometimes later if we feel more socialization is needed). At that point they will be eating solid food, litter-trained, vet-checked, and ready for their new home.

Are you a ragdoll breeder near me?
Yes, we serve clients across the U.S. If you’re searching for “Ragdoll kittens for sale in Pennsylvania” or “Ragdoll kittens for sale USA”, we welcome inquiries.

Do you have a waitlist for your kittens?
Yes. To join the waitlist, families place a $500 deposit. Once kittens are born, an additional $1,500 deposit is due to commit to a kitten from the litter. Deposits are applied toward the total price.

Can I choose the color or sex of my kitten?
Yes, families may request a preferred color or sex. However, please understand that doing so may require a longer wait depending on availability.

What Ragdoll Kitten colors and patterns are available?
We offer classic colors like seal point, blue point, chocolate point, lilac point, plus variants like bicolor, mitted, lynx, and occasionally mink/sepia Cherubim Ragdolls.

Do you ship kittens outside of Pennsylvania?
Yes. We offer safe transport across the United States, including ground couriers, flight nanny services, and air shipping from Philadelphia International Airport.

What is included with my kitten?
Each kitten from The Almonte House goes home with a written care guide, a Trupanion insurance offer, full veterinary records, TICA registration papers (after spay/neuter), and lifetime breeder support. Families also receive starter essentials to help their kitten transition smoothly into their new home.

What makes The Almonte House different?
We raise soul cats — luxury kittens from health tested parents, registered with TICA and CFA, and raised in-home. Our focus on careful socialization, pedigree, and lifetime support sets us apart as one of the most trusted catteries in Pennsylvania and beyond.

“After my divorce I felt so anxious and alone. As a designer, my work kept me busy, but my home felt empty. I decided to splurge on myself and brought home Esme a Ragdoll kitten from The Almonte House. It was the best decision I have ever made — she comforts me, inspires me, and makes my space feel alive again.”

Janet, Lawyer

As a Slavic girl, I always dreamed of having a Maine Coon like the ones I grew up seeing in Europe. But there are so many Maine Coon scams online. Finding The Almonte House made that dream real. My Maine Coon kitten is everything I hoped for. He is playful, healthy, and I can take him anywhere.

Svetlana, Jewelry Artisan

My husband always wanted his own Garfield. Or the Cheshire Cat. The Golden British shorthair fit all the requirements. This was such a good experience. 10/10 Recommend.

James, Creative Director

We are in the middle of IVF treatments, and the waiting and uncertainty has been overwhelming. We wanted something to take our minds off the stress and give us joy right now. Our Ragdoll kitten Herman from The Almonte House has been the perfect companion. He has given us a sense of family while we continue our journey.

Ragdoll Cat Health & Maintenance

  • High-quality kitten food: Check with us for what the kitten is eating so you can match diet initially.
  • A sufficient fresh water source. Cats need water to stay hydrated.
  • Litter box(es) and good litter: Ragdolls like a clean litter area; some prefer larger pans or covered/uncovered depending on personality.
  • Scratching posts, cat tree or vertical space: Ragdolls love climbing and lounging up high.
  • Safe indoor space: Our breed is best kept as an indoor pet; if you have a catio or supervised outdoor area that’s fine, but unsupervised outdoor roaming is not recommended.
  • Cozy bed, hide-spot, interactive toys: Their social nature means they’ll enjoy play and snuggle time with you.
  • Confine your kitten to one room of the house while it adjusts to your environment and then gradually increase freedom.
  • A carrier: For safe transport home and future vet visits.
  • Introduce slowly to your home: Let the kitten explore one room first, then gradually expand access.
  • If you have other pets (dogs, cats), supervise introductions slowly and positively.
  • Set a routine: Feeding, play, litter maintenance — Ragdolls enjoy consistency.
  • Spend daily quality time: Gentle petting, play sessions, and interaction help them bond with your family.
  • Grooming: Although Ragdolls have semi-long fur, their coat is relatively low-maintenance compared to some breeds, but regular brushing helps keep them mat-free and reduces shedding. Consider a sanitary trim around the tail area for easier coat hygiene.
  • Vet care: Annual check-ups, vaccinations as needed, dental hygiene, micro-chip registration.
  • Spay/neuter: If not done already, as part of responsible pet ownership.
  • Environment: Keep them indoors, provide mental stimulation, safe spaces to retreat, and plenty of company (many Ragdolls dislike being left alone for long periods).

The Value of Investing in a Quality Ragdoll Kitten

When people search “Ragdoll kittens for sale cheap”, they may find lower-cost options, but it’s essential to understand the trade-offs: fewer health tests, uncertain pedigrees, less socialization, unclear early life conditions, and less breeder support. At our level:

Why You Should Start Your Ragdoll Kitten Search Now

Searching for “Ragdoll kittens for sale” right now means you’re proactive about getting a healthy, well-matched kitten for your home. Good litters are limited, and waiting lists are common. By applying early you:

  • Improve your chances of selecting your preferred color/pattern and sex.
  • Get updates from the breeder on upcoming litters, and choose from among several options.
  • Have time to prepare your home and family for the new arrival.
  • Benefit from breeder guidance during the waiting period (diet prep, environment prep, etc.).
  • Lock in current pricing and choices before seasonal demand increases.
  1. You’re investing in a well-bred Ragdoll kitten with health documentation and a strong start.
  2. The lifelong value, both emotional and practical, of a kitten that’s healthy, well-socialized, and matches breed temperament is significant.
  3. Consider the “true cost” of ownership: vet bills, maintenance, training, behavioral issues vs a kitten starting from a strong foundation.
  4. The peace of mind, and the joy of bringing home a confident, friendly kitten who settles in quickly is priceless.

WE'll just say it

You Can't Afford to Be Scammed

Our gorgeous parent cats. Selected for health and temperament. Breeding that looks more like hard work and less like a money grab. If you are ready for a luxury, soul kind of kitten, The Almonte House is where you belong.

Picture yourself here — with your soul cat. Curled against you on the couch. A presence that feels meant for you and only you. The quiet comfort. The undeniable luxury. From something missing to belonging.
